After various studies and professional experiences in 2009 Amber Vandenhoeck began touring worldwide with the renowned dance company Peeping Tom. Soon after, she started designing their striking stage sets, and it was then that she discovered her true passion: creating
fascinating spaces for stories yet to be told. Taking elements from reality and
transforming them into strange, surprising imaginary worlds.
Vandenhoeck designs through sketches and scaled architectural models. Using foamboard, paper, SketchUp, and Photoshop, she creates spaces that are not only visually powerful but
also provide multiple possibilities for the director to develop the work.
She feels at ease with graphic techniques, employing them both as a design tool and as
part of the scenographic materials.
