Nataša Novotná is Czech dancer, choreographer, and lecturer. She began her career in the Netherlands, working with companies Nederlands Dans Theater 2 and 1 for almost a decade. In addition, she has also danced with the Göteborg’s Opera Ballet. She has been collaborating with choreographers such as Jiří Kylián, Ohad Naharin, William Forsythe, Mats Ek, Crystal Pite, Meryl Tancard and Tero Saarinen.
Nataša started her independent career when she co-founded the contemporary dance company 420people in Prague. She held the position of executive director, dancer, and choreographer of the company for nearly ten years after which she founded the Kylián Endowment Fund in Prague, focusing on dance education for young professionals. Since 2017 Nataša has been an active and certified teacher of Gaga, the movement language developed by choreographer Ohad Naharin.
Nataša coaches the ballet company of the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava, Czech, and collaborates internationally as a teacher. She also creates her original choreographic works, cooperating closely with light and sound artists. She has received several nominations for her stage performances: in Czech, for example, the prestigious Thalia Award and the Dancer of the Year Award.
Nataša has performed in numerous early choreographies of Tero Saarinen. She was a recurring visitor in TSC pieces such as Borrowed Light and Kaze.
