Marlon Moilanen

Marlon Moilanen is a dancer based in Helsinki, Finland. Performing mainly in the realms of contemporary dance and performance, he works with a psychic and soulfully experienced body, which allows a contradictory human being to be seen on the stage – where sensitivity, darkness and humor are often in intimate relations. Recently he has collaborated with choreographers Sonja Jokiniemi, Suvi Kemppainen, Margrét Sara Guðjónsdóttir and Sonya Lindfors. Currently his artistic focus is on integrating transpersonal energetic and spiritual experiences and ancient wisdoms of the body into dancing and performing. Besides dance art, he has an academic background in researching contemporary legal issues and governance of social rights. The socio-legal perspectives inspire also his artistic interests e.g. on the political possibilities of the body and questions of disagreement and consensus at the contemporary stage.
