Mia Rönkä

Mia Rönkä is a docent in ecology, science journalist and editor, author, poet, an expert on Arctic nature. She has focused particularly on exploring the relationship between humans and the rest of nature and communicating about it through multidisciplinary approaches and across the boundaries of science and art. Birds are important to her as subjects of research, topics for books and articles, poetic imagery, subjects of nature photography, and as part of her engagement with nature. Rönkä works at the Department of Biodiversity Science at the University of Turku.
