Emmi Pennanen

Dancer

Emmi Pennanen is a freelance dancer from Helsinki. In addition to working with TSC, they have recently been performing with e.g. Sivuun Ensemble and Makeshift Company. Pennanen has danced at the Finnish National Ballet and the Royal Ballet of Flanders. Over the course of eight years in these companies they performed in works of prestigious choreographers, such as Carolyn Carlson, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Ohad Naharin, William Forsythe and Martha Graham during that time.

Alongside their career as a dancer, Pennanen is studying in the Master’s program for Visual Cultures, Curating and Contemporary Art at Aalto University, Helsinki. They performed in Tero Saarinen’s work Kullervo in 2015 as a dancer with the Finnish National Ballet, and their current collaboration with TSC started in 2020.
