Emmi Pennanen is a freelance dancer from Helsinki. In addition to working with TSC, she is currently working with e.g. Virpi Pahkinen Dance Company and Agit Cirk. Pennanen has danced at the Finnish National Ballet (2009-2015 and 2018-2019), the Royal Ballet of Flanders (2015-2017) and as a trainee at the Boston Ballet (2008-2009). With these companies she has performed in the works of prestigious choreographers, such as Carolyn Carlson, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Ohad Naharin, Jiri Kylian and Martha Graham.
Alongside her career as a dancer, Pennanen is studying Visual Cultures, Curating and Contemporary Art at Aalto University, Helsinki. She performed in Tero Saarinen’s work Kullervo in 2015 as a dancer with the Finnish National Ballet, and her current collaboration with TSC started in 2020.
