Emmi Pennanen is a freelance dancer from Helsinki. Additionally to working with TSC, is currently working with e.g. Virpi Pahkinen Dance Company and Agit Cirk. Pennanen has danced at the Finnish National Ballet (2009-2015 and 2018-2019), the Royal Ballet of Flanders (2015-2017) and as a trainee at the Boston Ballet (2008-2009). With these companies she has performed in the works of prestigious choreographers, such as Carolyn Carlson, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Ohad Naharin, Jiri Kylian and Martha Graham.
Alongside her career as a dancer, Pennanen is studying Visual Cultures, Curating and Contemporary Art at Aalto University, Helsinki. She performed in Tero Saarinen’s work Kullervo in 2015 as a dancer of the Finnish National Ballet, and her current collaboration with TSC started in 2020.
