Raquel Camarinha

Interested about singing and acting from a very early age, soprano Raquel Camarinha made her operatic debut in Lisbon at the age of 19 and got a Master’s in Singing from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Danse de Paris.

Nominated in 2017 at Victoires de la Musique Classique as “Lyric Artist Revelation,” Camarinha has won several prestigious awards, including first prize at the Luísa Todi National Singing Competition, Best Female Singer at the Armel Opera Competition and Duo Prize at the International Singing Competition Nadia and Lili Boulanger with the pianist Satoshi Kubo

She has performed internationally at major venues such as Théâtre du Châtelet, Opéra-Comique, and the Philharmonie de Paris. Camarinha’s stage performances include Mozart’s Il Re Pastore, and Handel’s Orlando Paladino. Her performance of Poulenc’s La Voix Humaine was praised as a “unique and exceptional show.”

A chamber music specialist, Camarinha regularly performs with pianist Yoan Héreau and collaborates with artists like Renaud Capuçon and Henri Demarquette and Ensemble Intercontemporain, among others.

Raquel Camarinha has sung Kaija Saariaho‘s La Passion de Simone chamber version as both member of the vocal quartet and the main role.
