Tuomo Suni

Musician (Violin) – Helsinki Baroque Orchestra

Tuomo Suni studied baroque violin in Finland with Kreeta-Maria Kentala, the pioneer in Finnish movement for early music, before doing his Master’s at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague in the Netherlands (2005).

Suni performs and records regularly with several international ensembles, including Opera Quarta, Ensemble Masques, Capriccio Stravagante, Ricercar Consort and Helsinki Baroque Orchestra. He has been included in many award-winning recordings, such as Opera Quarta’s Leclair trio sonatas (2007) and Ensemble Masques’s Romanus Weichlein (2015), which have both won the French prize for prestigious classical music, Diapason d’Or. Suni is also the premier violon in Vox Luminis, principal second violin at The English Concert and the leader at the Hallgrímskirkja International Baroque Orchestra. Suni’s collaboration with TSC started in 2019, when Third Practice first premiered with the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra.
