Jyrki Mänttäri
Actor (TTT-theatre)
Jyrkki Mänttäri graduated from the Tampere Degree Programme in Theatre Arts in 1997 and was immediately employed by the TTT Theatre. He has appeared in the theatre’s productions of Katrina (2023), Action Hero (2022), Wings of Desire (2022), Paljon melua pizzasta (Much Ado About Pizza, 2022), Matilda (2021), Jeppe on the Hill (2020), The Tempest (2019), Poikabändi (Boy Band, 2019), Juhannustanssit (Midsummer Dance, 2019), Billy Elliot (2018), Tytöt 1918 (Girls 1918, 2018), Agents-musiikkikomedia (Agents the Musical Comedy, 2017), Mielensäpahoittajan Suomi (The Grump’s Finland, 2017), Viita 1949 (2016), Kilpakosijat (Rival Suitors, 2016), Fiddler on the Roof (2017), The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (2014), Anna-Liisa (2011) and Seitsemän veljestä (Seven Brothers, 2008).
Mänttäri’s monodrama Getsemane, a tale of artist Kalervo Palsa’s life, won the Pieksämäki Monodrama Competition in 2002.
He appeared as a dancer in the Dance Theatre MD’s production Carmen ja ihmisten kaupunki (Carmen and the City of People), choreographed by Ari Numminen.
Mänttäri’s television roles include Pysäyttäkää Nyqvist (Stop Nyqvist, 2022), Kansan vihollinen (Enemy of the People, 2022), Koskinen (2021), Korpelan kujanjuoksu (Losing Ground, 2016), Uusi päivä (New Day, 2016), Syke (Pulse, 2016), Haamukirjoittaja (Ghostwriter, 2015), Pirunpelto (Devil’s Field, 2012–2013), and Taivaan tulet (Northern Lights, 2007–2011). He also played one of the leads in the short film Kovat miehet (A Stone Left Unturned, 2000).
In 2023, Mänttäri appears in the TTT Theatre’s play REIKÄleipä (Round Rye Bread).
