Sharon Eyal
Choreographer
The choreographer from Jerusalem danced in Batsheva Dance Company from 1990 to 2008, where she began to choreograph pieces for the company’s Dancers Create project. Sharon Eyal served as the associate artistic director for Batsheva in 2003 and 2004, later becoming the resident choreographer of the company. Since 2009 she has choreographed for other companies, such as Carte Blanche in Norway, the Royal Swedish Ballet, the Staatsballett Berlin and the Nederlands Dans Theater. Her works demonstrate the hypnotic power of the synchronous, the incredible dynamics of an organism made of human-machine-bodies. In 2013, Eyal and Gai Behar founded their own company L-E-V in Tel Aviv. Eyal has appeared as a dancer in Tero Saarinen‘s early pieces, Overdosed Mood and Un/Do.
