Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the performances of Truths That Never Were have been cancelled as a precautionary measure to avoid the spread of the virus. The creation will be performed and streamed live online at broasnyberg.com on Fri 20 March at 19:00 (GMT +2). We are looking for alternative dates for the performances.
Developed in the first ever residency at Tero Saarinen Company, dance artist Jenna Broas, spatial designer and artist Fabian Nyberg and composer-musician Martin Granö‘s creation fusing animated video with dance, Truths That Never Were, will premiere at TSC Studio on Friday 20 March.
Truths That Never Were deals with the concept of a living subject and its ontological, virtual and fleeting truths. The work manifests itself in space through the dialogue between animated video and multidimensional movement. The work captures the viewer in a surrealistic landscape moving on the border between the unreal and the real.

The artist duo Broas & Nyberg was founded in 2018 by Jenna Broas and Fabian Nyberg. Together they work on notions and concepts related to humanity and the future of contemporary humans. Their collaboration has embarked from the desire and need to create visual and current art at the interface between stage and installation art as well as extend choreographic thinking to animation and video art. As artists, their backgrounds are in space art, space design, dance and choreography.
Martin Granö composes and makes music all-round. In this work Granö’s composition and sound design plays with different atmospheres – floating, shimmering and unfolding into the space.
