Jing-Yi Wang

Jing-Yi Wang started her dance studies at Guangdong Dance School in Guangzhou (China) in 1997. During her studies she did a student exchange in the University of Cambridge in England, supported by the Chinese Ministry of Education. In 2001 Wang continued her studies at the Guangdong ATV Professional Academy for Performing Arts studying contemporary dance and choreography.
During 2003–2007 she worked as a full time dancer at the Guangdong Modern Dance Company, with whom she toured in North America and Europe and attended various international dance festivals. In 2007 Wang moved to France, where she studied at the Montserrat Caballé Conservatoire for music, dance and theatre (Perpignan) and worked at the French Desoblique Company (Lyon). Wang joined Skånes Dansteater in Malmö in 2009. During her extensive career Wang has also taught and created her own work. Her collaboration with TSC started in 2020 in Malmö, when TSC first produced Transit in collaboration with Skånes Dansteater.
